What we collect
- Account details you enter when signing up: name, email address, city, date of birth, a short description, and a profile photo.
- Events you create: name, date, time, location and description.
- Social activity: friend connections, requests to join events, chat messages, and users you have blocked.
- A notification token for your device, so we can send you push notifications.
How we use it
- To show your profile and events to other people in the app.
- To notify you about events from your friends or in your city, and about friend and join requests.
- To let you message people you are connected with.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Who can see what
- Your name, photo, city and description are visible to other people using ChimeIn.
- The exact location of an event is only shown to the host and to people the host has accepted.
- Shared event links show a limited public preview that does not include the location.
- Private messages are visible only to their participants.
Where it is stored
Data is stored using Google Firebase (authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage). Push notifications are delivered through Expo's notification service and Apple's or Google's push services.
Age
ChimeIn is not intended for anyone under 18.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from Settings in the app, which removes your profile, your events and your profile photo. You can also email us and we will remove your data.
We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account.
Changes
We may update this page. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email.
